Jack Gerstein moved to Winter Park in 1972 and began dabbling in real estate in 1974. In 2001, he began professionally selling condos, townhomes, and mountain homes.

“No one knows the mountains like I do,” is Jack’s business philosophy and life philosophy, and he’s not exaggerating.

He’s climbed Mt. Everest twice, and for twenty-five years, he owned Ski Depot Sports in Winter Park, eventually growing the business to six stores, which he sold in 2001. After the sale, his years of investing in mountain real estate made it a natural progression for him to become an agent.

Jack enjoys interacting with people, “selling the community,” and passing on his extensive knowledge of the market. When helping clients buy and sell real estate, he applies his mountaineering skills of: determination, patience, realistic goal-setting, team execution, and communication.

Born and raised in Chicago, near Wrigley Field, Jack’s passions include: mountaineering, high-altitude climbing, and chasing the 7 summits (the high point of each land mass on the seven continents). He also enjoys road and mountain biking, hiking, and ice climbing. Jack’s companion Vickey and his dog Byers, (who is named after one of the most famous peaks in the Winter Park area, Byers Peak, 12,804 feet), join him on his more tame adventures.

Jack’s always been active in the local community, and his most recent volunteer work includes helping out with SMART, a horse-therapy program for disabled kids. In 2007, he was honored to deliver the graduation speech to Middle Park High School seniors.

Jack is a member of the Grand County Builder’s Association and is currently working on his Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation. He is proud to be a part of the Coldwell Banker Mountain Properties team, which has been the number one real estate company in Grand County for the past ten years.
